Aircraft Batteries: Modern aircraft often cruise at altitudes of 33,000 to 40,000ft. At this altitude, the outside air temperature can be as low as -56C. All of the aircraft’s support system such as control, navigation and lighting are battery powered, and batteries do not fair well in such extreme temperatures. Our heating solutions are designed to keep these batteries warm, enabling them to function at high altitudes and the systems functioning throughout flight.

Aircraft Galleys and Toilets: At altitude where temperatures are well below freezing, it is essential all plumbing remains above freezing. In the cabin this is unlikely to be a problem but the complex fluid systems in areas beyond must also be maintained. Our heating solutions are flexible enough to fit all pipe dimensions and tank containment.

Aircraft Composite Structures: Composite structures on aircraft consist of thin skins bonded to honeycomb or foam core. In the event repair work is necessary, we can provide the material heaters essential to enable bonded repairs.

Satellite Communications: Satellite communication is dependant on the ground base satellite dishes being able to function reliably. As the dish antenna is required to be located outside and pointing skywards in order to receive the satellite signals, it is prone to the effects of the weather. Snow and ice can seriously degrade the signal strength. We are able to supply shaped heater sets to cover the parabolic dishes to keep them free of ice and snow for sizes up to 6m diameter using single heating elements

Electronics: Both high altitude flying and operating beyond Earth’s atmosphere in the vacuum of space, offer very challenging environments for sensitive electronics. We are able to provide both off-the-shelf and bespoke solutions for enclosures, and optical/sensor devices.
